SOSIALISASI PERAKITAN LAMPU PENERANGAN BERTENAGA SURYA KEPADA SMK BRANTAS DAN WARGA SEKITAR PLTA SUTAMI

Abstract

SMK Brantas is located in Karangkates Village, Sumberpucung District, Malang Regency, East Java. SMK Brantas has a special field of expertise in Electricity Engineering. Students of SMK Brantas are still not familiar with the use of alternative energy such as solar cells for electricity production. To illuminate road access in the neighborhood and daily activities, most of SMK Brantas only relies on lights installed through distributors from community self-help. The dim condition of the neighborhood area can pose a potential accident hazard to residents and road users who pass by at night. In addition, the installation of lights with greater power can burden the economy of residents. From the results of observations in the field and direct interviews with local residents, there are three aspects that are the focus of this extension program, namely the introduction of alternative energy to SMK Brantas and local residents, installation and counseling on lamp maintenance equipped with solar panels. Along with the implementation of the extension and education program to SMK Brantas and surrounding residents, it is hoped that they will be able to understand and not feel unfamiliar with the availability of alternative energy.  SMK Brantas and surrounding residents are also expected to be able to apply the use of alternative energy in everyday life and be able to carry out the assembly process, maintenance of alternative energy sources, especially solar panels.
